The Luxia 7000 Series is Samsungs line of high-end LCD HDTVs introduced in 2009 that use an LED edge-lighting solution and feature a native resolution of 1080p and Auto Motion Plus 120Hz technology. All Luxia lines use Samsungs LED edge-lighting technology contained in a "super-slim" cabinet that measures around 1.1" thick. The B7000s are in the middle of the Luxia line situated as the step-up from the B6000s, and step-down from the B8000s. The main feature differentiating the 6000 and 7000 series is the addition of Samsungs Internet@TV connectivity, that offers Yahoo Internet widgets, and video streaming services. The step-up flagship 8000 Series upgrades the AMP 120Hz to a faster refresh rate of 240Hz. THE GOOD: Produces relatively deep black levels; accurate color; very good dejudder processing; sleek styling with 1.2-inch thick panel; extensive feature set with Yahoo widgets, network streaming, and a lot of built-in content; extremely energy-efficient. THE BAD: Expensive; less-uniform screen than other LCDs; poor off-angle viewing; backlight fluctuates with program brightness; dark areas tinged bluer; shiny screen can cause reflections in bright rooms; red frame isnt for everyone. THE BOTTOM LINE: Although its picture quality cant quite live up to the high price, the Samsung UNB7000 series is a technological and design tour de force.
