The sole, yet significant, improvement that the Alpha DSLR-A580 boasts over the Alpha DSLR-A560 is its 16.2 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor (the DSLR-A560 sports a 14.2 megapixel sensor). Otherwise, the two DSLRs sport the same basic features, including: 15 point auto focus, a dual anti-dust system and 1080p video capture. The Alpha DSLR-A580s 16.2 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor offers 7 frame per second high quality image and video capture without penalty to low-light sensitivity and sensor noise. Its 15 point auto focus system utilizes 11 AF points with four assist points for extremely fast, accurate auto focus while three cross sensors ensure even greater precision. Additionally, the Alpha DSLR-A580s dual anti-dust system offer consistently clear images by way of a static-free coating on the sensors low-pass filter as well as vibration which automatically dislodges dust from the sensor.
