The Yamaha YHT-395 is a basic 5.1 AV receiver and home theater system with support for 3D video. This is the base model in the Yamaha YHT series, and is followed by the Yamaha YHT-495 which uses slightly larger speakers. Each of the 5 channels is sent 100 watts of power, and are designed for 8 ohm resistances enabling users to upgrade the speakers with high end equipment later. An 8 inch subwoofer is also included and is backed by 100 watts of power. The HDMI v1.4a ports provide 3D video support in full 1080p high definition, and an audio return channel is also available. When in standby mode an HDMI 3D passthrough continues to be available for a clear and undistorted signal. All channels use 24-bit Burr-Brown DACs at 192kHz, ensuring the clearest possible audio output. Features 100W 5-channel A/V Receiver (8ohms, 0.9% THD) HD Audio decoding 1080p-compatible HDMI v1.4a with 3D ... PROS: (1) lots of control over the audio, easy to get it exactly the way you want it (2) manages audio delay automatically, but enables manual adjustment if you need it (3) active subwoofer outputs a good amount of volume for its size (4) 3D content is passed without any loss of signal, stays sharp and clear (5) installation instructions provided are perfect for entry-level users, anybody can set it up ... CONS: (1) comes with flimsy low-gauge wires that will lose some of the audio, its worth replacing them
