The Western Digital My Passport Studio is a portable external hard drive designed to be compatible with Macintosh computers. This is being released as a higher-end alternative to the Western Digital My Passport for Mac, having more connection options, security, and a more durable case construction. The all-metal case construction combines a scratch resistant brushed metal finish around the edges with a black metal on the main body for a solid, sleek look. A basic USB 2.0 port is available for compatibility, but for a faster connection a pair of FireWire 800 ports are also built in. For security-conscious users software is included to enable encryption as well as password protection, and these features are made fully compatible with Apples Time Machine application for seamless backups. Power is drawn directly through either the FireWire or USB ports in order to eliminate the need for an AC adapter. Features Fully Mac compatible Compatible ...
