It features a microSD card slot, easy file management, and a scene select function. The microSD card slot supports cards up to 16GB, adding on the the 4GB internal memory, and adding more hours onto the 1000 hour recording time. The WS-700M has an easy file management system, that allows a user to organize up to 200 files in five folders, for quick access and convenience. The scene select function allows the microphones to automatically adjust to the surroundings, in order to capture the best possible sound. When compared to another digital voice recorder by Olympus, the WS-600S, the WS-700M has several advantages, including more internal memory (4GB versus 2GB), and the ability to charge via a USB 2.0 connection.
