The Panasonic VIERA TC-P50C2 is one of three VIERA Plasma HDTVs announced in 2010 as part of the VIERA C2 series. The TC-P50C2 hosts a 50” anti-reflective screen that works well in bright rooms, and happens to be the largest in the C2 series. It hosts a 720p resolution, which Panasonic purposefully lowered to appeal to consumer demands for different resolutions. Like its peers, the TC-P50C2 utilizes a 600Hz Sub-Field Drive with Panasonic’s new NEO PDP technology to deliver improved luminosity with clearer hues. Most notable, though, is the 100,000-hour lifespan. Additional features include three HDMI connections, 2 USB ports, a PC input, and VIERA Link for using a single remote for accessing any connected VIERA Link products. Features 50” HDTV 720p HD Resolution 600Hz Sub-Field Drive Anti-Reflective Filter NEO PDP HDMI USB PC VIERA Link ... PROS: (1) automatically detects the ambient light in the room and adjusts the brightness of the display accordingly (2) HD content is sharp and detailede (3) capable of deep and accurate blacks (4) colors are vibrant and bright ... CONS: (1) SD upconversion to HD is weak, some pictures seem poor quality (2) known screen dimming issue in this model (3) settings often have to be manually set to get the picture right (4) the screen is reflective, can be almost mirror-like for light sources behind the viewer (5) speakers are lower quality, need to be turned up to make out what is being said
