Review : The Asus VE228H is a mid-range 21.5" LED computer monitor that sports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. It also features a 5ms response time, a 10,000,000:1 Asus Smart Contrast Ratio and Splendid Video Intelligence Technology. Additionally, the VE228H sports built-in two-watt speakers, an Aspect Control function, and HDMI, DVI-D and VGA video inputs. The VE228Hs Asus Smart Contrast Ratio is a technology designed specifically to enhance the VE228Hs contrast ratio to an effective 10,000,000:1 for brighter whites, darker blacks and an all-around more life-like image. Its Splendid Video Intelligence Technology provides the VE228H with optimized color, brightness, contrast and sharpness by way of 5 video presets meant to provide optimal settings for each situation. Meanwhile, the VE228Hs Aspect Control function allows users to easily switch between standard 16:9 widescreen and 4:3 fullscreen viewing modes as needed. PROS: (1) great mounting points for VESA wall mount, and the light weight makes it easy to put up quick and easy (2) color rendering is very realistic, everything looks lifelike (3) inputs are compatible with older and newer videocards (4) wide range of adjustability for the picture to get it looking just the way you want (5) setup is very quick, generally plug-and-play with the colors looking great out of the box ... CONS: (1) speakers are extremely weak, best not to use them at all (2) some slight flicker is noticeable when using the VGA input at full resolution
