StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is the first part of the StarCraft II trilogy. It contains full multiplayer capability and the Terran campaign. The Zerg and Protoss campaigns will be released as expansions, entitled Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void, respectively. Each campaign has 27-30 missions, meaning that the entire StarCraft II trilogy will have almost three times the number of missions in Brood War. The long awaited sequel comes over a decade since the release of the original StarCraft, a landmark game in the real-time strategy genre. Announced at a world wide invitational press conference on May 19, StarCraft II continues the legacy set down by its predecessor and continues the story of the war between the Protoss, Zerg and Terran races. Full 3D graphics, new units, and new abilities are all introduced for this second installment. A several month long beta started in eary 2010, and ... PROS: (1) vastly improved graphics over the original - brings Starcraft into the 21st century (2) extremely well balanced - long beta process with many patches, long-term support (3) maintains the original / well loved gameplay mechanics of the first game (4) the game of choice for the RTS enthusiast - huge community and professional gaming backing (5) many original units for nostalgia factor, while others are replaced for players to enjoy / learn new strategies ... CONS: (1) no LAN multiplayer (2) requires a copy of the game for each server you wish to play on (North America, Europe or Asia) - poor for international players / tournaments (3) CANNOT ZOOM OUT !!! Were stuck at 3 inches over the map. We all have better than 640x480 resolution now! Wake up! (4) Monthly online reactivation (5) single player campaigns will be released individually as separate games
