Canon ELPH 300 HS review at Camera Labs

by cameralabs.com Monday, January 01, 0001
Review : The ELPH 300 is the best-selling point-and-shoot camera in Canon's 2011 range. It delivers a canny balance of a decent lens range in a slim package at an affordable price. It's a great combination, but for a little more you could get the 8x zoom of the ELPH 310 HS, or for a little less you could get the ELPH 100 HS. It's a tough choice, so I've compared all three in my review.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS | Black

by productwiki.com Monday, January 01, 0001
Review : The Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS is a colorful, ultra-thin compact digital camera announced in February 2010. It features a 24mm ultra wide-angle 5x optical zoom lens, making it, according to Canon, the first of its kind. Like its peers, the ELPH 100 HS and ELPH 500 HS, which were released during the same time, the ELPH 300 HS can capture 12.1MP still images in JPEG and record 1080p HD videos in MOV. Key to the Canon ELPH and its peers is its ability for enhanced low-light shooting, courtesy of an updated DIGIC 4 Image Processor. Plus the device offers an HDMI port for transmitting to a compatible HDTV. Features 12.1MP CMOS Sensor Ultra-Thin Frame 24mm Wide-Angle Lens 5X Optical Zoom 4X Digital Zoom 2.7" TFT LCD Display TTL Autofocus White Balance Control Built-In Flash HD JPEG Images 1080p MOV Videos High Speed Shooting Slow Motion Recording 3200 ISO Battery Pack ... PROS: (1) camera looks really cool, comes in some great bright colors (2) light weight enough to stick in your pocket without it pulling down on your shirt too bad (3) thin, small design, takes up minimal space (4) images come out sharp and clear almost every time (5) low light images are pretty good, can see the details fairly well ... CONS: (1) battery life isnt very good, drains them pretty quick (2) sound in HD video is poor, any bass range results in lots of distortion (3) getting a scene mode takes a few seconds, not great for a quick opportunity shot

Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Review

by Imaging Resource Monday, January 01, 0001
Review : Taking up the bottom position in the price category for quality slim pocket digital cameras, the Canon ELPH 300 HS has just what it takes to be a top seller. While it won't deliver the gigantic prints of CCD cameras of similar size, the Canon 300 HS pleases in other ways, packing a 24-120mm equivalent lens, a good quality 2.7-inch LCD, and Full HD video capability in a very slim package. Handheld NightScene mode further reveals the advantage of the Canon 300's CMOS image capture, combining three images into one for a smoother still than you'd normally expect at ISO 1,600. Though we had some trouble with soft corners, we thought the Canon 300's images were still good enough for most anyone's purposes as a pocket camera for recording the fun wherever you go.
