The Samsung LN46D550 is a mid-range 46" 1080p LCD HDTV very similar to the Samsung LN40D550. The sole difference between the two HDTVs is size: the LN46D550 is a 46" set while the LN40D550 measures 40" diagonally. Otherwise, the two sets sport similar features, including: Wide Colour Enahcner and Eco Sensor technology as well as Samsungs HyperReal Engine. The LN46D550s Wide Colour Enhancer provides more vivid images and a more realistic picture by way of enhanced green, blue, red, yellow, cyan and magenta levels. Its Eco Sensor technology ensures minimal energy consumption as well as optimal picture clarity by adjusting image brightness to account for the rooms ambient lighting. Meanwhile, the LN46D550s HyperReal Engine optimises image enhancement for optimal picture quality and clarity.
