THE GOOD: The LG PZ950 series evinced excellent color in bright and dark areas, along with the even screen uniformity of plasma. The Smart TV Internet portal is well-designed with a solid selection of streaming services, and LG includes a Wi-Fi dongle. The secondary motion-sensitive remote provides a cool, easy-to-use control option. We appreciated the one-sheet-of-glass styling. THE BAD: This plasma reproduces light black levels and its screen handles bright rooms worse than other TVs. It showed mediocre 3D performance. Smart TV lacks Pandora, and its search is next to useless. THE BOTTOM LINE: Although blessed with solid features, design and performance, the LG PZ950 series cant match the excellent picture quality of other plasmas in its price range.

The SmartTV dashboard has four main sections: TV Live, Premium Content, TV Apps and a Launch Bar. The included Magic Motion remote control is a gesture-based remote that provides a simple and intuitive way to control the TV as well as the LG SmartTV apps. The INFINIA 50PZ950 incorporates 3D capability, working with the use of active shutter glasses and an RF emitter built into the television. This TV is also equipped with 2D to 3D conversion, which is user-adjustable so consumers can watch almost anything with a 3D effect (this TV has THX 2D and 3D Display Certification). The Picture Wizard function of this TV provides you with a seven-step calibration process with which to fine-tune picture ... PROS: (1) attractive design, bezel is extremely minimal and looks very sleek (2) effectively fights glare, can use it in any room lighting (3) audio is above average for a flatscreen, can clearly hear what everyone is saying (4) remote control is comfortable and all the buttons are right where your thumb can get at them (5) 2D to 3D conversion works with almost everything, very cool effect ... CONS: (1) hard to get the colors balanced right, tend to either get dark images or washed out colors (2) videophiles will notice some "dirty screen effect"
