The Sony HT-SS380 is a standard 5.1-channel home theater audio system with four satellite speakers, a central channel, a subwoofer, and a receiver. Together they output 1000W. It offers 1080p video playback of Blu-ray sources via an HDMI repeater (3 in, 1 out) that supports stand-by-pass through, 3D pass through, and the audio return channel (ARC). Other devices like DVD and CD players can also be hooked up to it. Also included is an iPhone & iPod docking station. Overall, the Sony HT-SS380 is a more barebones, entry-level model, especially when compared to the other three theater systems released alongside it—BDV-E780W, BDV-E580, and BDV-E280. CONS: (1) LCD screen is small with smaller icons than many receivers (2) Does not have any composite connections so must be used exclusively with HDMI, not great for backwards compatibility (3) Included speaker wiring is shorter than typical HTIB sets (4) Wires cannot be disconnected from rear of speakers
