The HDJ-2000 headphones are Pioneers flagship professional DJ headphones, and are a somewhat updated, somewhat altered version of the model below them, the HDJ-1000. For the most part, the technical specifications are the same as the HDJ-1000s, including 50mm dome drivers, 5Hz - 30kHz frequency response, and the drives have high-flux magnetic protection. Most of the updates are stylistic or in terms of comfort. The HDJ-2000 model is more flexible and lightweight, and is suited for DJs who like to monitor with headphones around their shoulders, as they feature hinges that rotate 90 degrees. They fold up to be compact for transportation, and they have memory-foam padding and a synthetic leather covering, and the lower region is made of lightweight magnesium for durability. There is also a removable XLR connector that allows the cord to be replaced. CONS: (1) not a balanced headphone: designed for DJs, not everyday listeners - biased towards highs and lows with sucked out mids (2) gets uncomfortable over long listening sessions (3) over-rated, flat sounding for the price (4) case feels very cheap, materials are poor (5) cord feels flimsy like it could be easily snapped
