Review : Garmins GPSMAP 62s is the model one step above the GPSMAP 62, and while it has many of the same features, it offers two upgrades. The first is a 3-axis, tilt-compensated compass which shows headings even while standing still, regardless of the units orientation. It also has a wireless sharing capability that allows waypoints, routes, geocaches and other information to be shared with other compatible Garmin units. Other features include a satellite lock-on feature and four-helix antenna, which keep the satellite signal even in thick cover, the ability to add maps to the included relief-shaded global basemap, and geocaching location and information support with GPX files. Features 2.6" 65k color screen High-sensitivity receiver Waterproof Global basemap Electronic tilt-compensated 3-axis compass Wireless sharing Maps can be added 2000 waypoint storage, 200 routes 1.7 GB built-in memory Supports geocaching GPX files Custom maps compatible Tide tables, sun/moon information, hunt/fish calendar Garmin Connect online ... PROS: (1) Extremely sensitive signal reception (2) Very low interference with canopy cover, large objects, even indoors (3) Custom options (such as different user or usage profiles, stored data, page sequences and dashboard defaults) are convenient (4) Menu navigation is simple, displays different screens in a logial order that makes button access to different features easy (since this is a non-touch screen model) (5) Accuracy makes paperless geocaching simple and fun ... CONS: (1) Slightly bulky, heavier compared to Garmins OREGON series (2) Low-res (160 x 240) display is noticeably pixelated
