Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first person shooter and the seventh installment in the Call of Duty series. It features a number of play modes, including single player, local multiplayer versus and online co-op and multiplayer. The setting and story are based on the the live fire conflicts of the Cold War, and features a number of elements specific to the time. The large arsenal of weapons available are period specific, and include items like the explosive-tipped crossbow. A number of vehicles are also a part of the game, including the famous SR-71 Blackbird. Play settings range from air-based to ground combat, and vary from urban settings to snow combat and steamy jungles. Features Single player story mode Local multiplayer versus mode Online co-op and multiplayer Based on Cold War era Air and ground combat, urban and jungle settings Traditional COD gaming with new elements Large arsenal of weapons ... PROS: (1) tons of new multiplayer modes keep the game interesting (2) Eliminates some of the more annoying designs of modern warfare 2 (noob tubes, etc) (3) powerful theater mode for recording, viewing and sharing games (4) Ridiculous amount of stat tracking (5) Same high intensity feel as past call od duty titles ... CONS: (1) Unlocking stuff takes way too long at the beginning (2) RC-XD cars are very very annoying (3) Major lag issues are quite common (4) Host migration issues (5) Still a ton of action always going on which can be easily disorienting
