The Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Solo are a pair of on-ear headphones that features an inline microphone and integrated iPod controls. It utilizes a compact design with full-size circular earcups that swivel and fit over the outer ear. Signature to the Solo is that it can be used to take iPhone calls, as well as operate an iPod. Overall, critics hail the Solo it as comfortable to a degree, but lacking in audio quality. Additional features include an adjustable band, a thick removable cable, and a gold-plated L-plug for hooking up to an audio source. (3)"On-ea" design (as opposed to around-the-ear) is pretty comfortable. (4) Construction feels of better quality than the Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Studio headphones (less plastic-y). (5) Cable can be detached from the earpiece. ... CONS: (1) Mids and highs are of poor quality, especially considering the strong bass. (2) Mostly paying for the Dr. Dre name rather than quality. (3) Despite the better quality construction, the Solos seem to break quite easily (the band is prone to snapping).
