The LG 42LV3500 is a mid-range LED high-definition television. This is a larger version of the LG 37LV3500, but apart from the 42 inch display shares all of the same features. A contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 ensures realistic color in full 1080p high definition, and the user can calibrate the color using a built-in easy to use Picture Wizard or the ISFccc toolset for best accuracy. 8 picture modes are also available for quick color, brightness and sharpness preset selection for different types of viewing, and an Intelligent Sensor mode enables automatic adjustment of the brightness according to how well lit the room is, making it easier to see in brightly lit sunny rooms and less intense at night with the lights out. Inputs are available on the side for users that want to mount the display on the wall, and also on the back if hiding the cords is a priority. Features ... PROS: (1) color depth is fantastic, very realistic (2) setup is easy, anyone can do it without reading the instructions (3) Intelligent Sensor is fantastic, brightens/dims the screen perfectly every time (4) sound is clear enough that you can clearly hear what the actors are saying at lower volumes (5) great options for hooking it up at the side or back as needed ... CONS: (1) generates enough heat that, if its in a cabinet, it needs some extra ventilation out the back
