Review :
The Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition is a hard drive built to run as a stand-alone file server and backup system. It connects through a standard Gigabit Ethernet connection and has a low-power design with drive spin-down when not being accessed. The 2 USB 2.0 ports can be used to automatically synchronize with USB thumb drives, or they can be connected to printers for print sharing over the network. File serving capabilities include a built-in iTunes server for general media, and a UPnP NLNA Certified AV Media Server for non-Apple related media streaming. The drive can be programmed to automatically post pre-defined directories of content to Facebook, YouTube and Flickr, and it can be set to synchronize with another drive on the fly. If automated backups arent ideal, a one-touch QuikTransfer button on the front can be used to begin the process. This drive also supports connections to public ... PROS: (1) Strong file transfer performance, cheaper and faster than options from competitors such as Western Digital and Seagate (2) At the discounted price, it is one of the cheapest home NAS on the market (3) Pinters can be connected to the two USB ports, and the NAS can serve as a print server (4) Have a full range of media features such as UPnP, DLNA, and iTunes server (5) Compartible with Apple time machine ... CONS: (1) Lacks iSCSI support, somewhat disappointing considering the host of other features that this drive has

Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition - NAS server
by cnet.com Monday, January 01, 0001
Review :
THE GOOD: The Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition is easy to use for home users and affordable. It offers good performance and a Personal Cloud feature that enables remote access. THE BAD: The Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition lacks advanced NAS features, storage capacity, and backup options. The server requires software installed on Mac client computers to work and the Personal Cloud storage could use some improvements. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition makes a very good simple home NAS server. Advanced users who need more control over their storage and remote access might want to look elsewhere.
